I thought I’d finish off #30dayswild with a little challenge for you – what do you see when you look at the photo below?
I reckon some of you said you saw the hill, some maybe noticed the white cottage in the distance, and some others might have spotted the bee on the flower…. but did you spot all the different wild flowers?
That picture’s probably a bit small, so here’s a larger cropped version of it:
(click *continue reading* to continue, in case you don’t want to see what I managed to spot before having a go yourself)
I managed to spot 6 different plants…. mostly what people would class as weeds but in this case are wild flowers:
- Bindweed
- Bramble (blackberry)
- Stinging Nettles
- Hogweed (possibly) – you can see white flowers on the top photo, just visible against the sky
- Grass
- And an unidentified plant on the bottom left of the lower photo – we get that growing on the allotment quite frequently, but so far I’ve not been able to identify it.

stinging nettles; bindweed; brambles; what looks like cow parsley but which I’m reliably informed isn’t; grasses 🙂
I love your post for the 30th day! Something to get you thinking. Clever too in the way you have labelled the photo to identify the plants.
