On to Lot #7 and it’s the Ys and Where 4s – this is another owl which was part of a competition over the summer; you had to figure out the owl’s real name, and also work out the owl’s father’s name.
The owl’s name has been solved, but you can still guess the owl’s father’s name – I guess they made it so fiendishly challenging, there aren’t many right answers yet!

Speculo is lot number 5, and was perched near the Abbey, outside Bath Aqua Glass. This was a challenging owl to get a photo of during the summer, as it was attracting so much interest with the way the light caught the glass feathers on its wings.

On to Lot #4 and it’s Sea Owl, who was perched near Sally Lunn’s.
Sea Owl does look striking close up, but I think the wave effects do look better if you stand a few steps back.

Moving on to Lot #2, it’s Having a Hoot at Work. This owl had its own competition during the summer – you had to count the number of owls features on the owl…. I will admit I gave up, as each time I looked, I kept spotting more I’d missed!

The Owls Hoot Farewell event ends today (10am – 5pm, with last entry at 4pm). Today’s ‘guess the owl’ could be a tricky one, but maybe you remember spotting that sparkly eye somewhere before….
Minerva’s Owls – Summer 2018
The Owls Hoot Farewell event started today, and the weather was perfect for getting photos of every owl from the trail. There were also two new owls especially for the Hoot Farewell, plus a chance to get a much closer look at Ralph who previously was tucked away in a garden.
Paul Golledge’s Bird of Prey Discovery Talks were there on Saturday with three stunning owls – they even brought the Indian Eagle Owl out to meet the crowds!
Minerva’s Owls are set out with plenty of space between them, so you aren’t fighting the crowds to look at the detail on each one
And a bonus “Guess Whoo” – can you identify this owl?
The Hoot Farewell’s final day is tomorrow (Sunday 30th September) and is open 11:00 – 17:00, with last entries at 16:00.
