It’s one of those shops you pass by without noticing as you head towards the Abbey, or maybe you stand in front of it to try and frame that classic Abbey photo without losing the top of the spire by standing too close.
But Jacks of Bath’s window display is worth a look, especially when it’s this Christmassy!
The Christmas Market officially opens tomorrow, but they held a special residents’ preview this evening as a way of beating the crowds.
Because there are less sheds in the Abbey Churchyard this year, there’s much more space to stand and walk. That’s definitely an improvement on last year!
Admittedly this is one of the most challenging ‘shop fronts’ to take a photo of. You really need to stand in the middle of Milsom Street, but there’s hardly ever a suitable moment where there’s no traffic and no pedestrians to get that perfect shot!
Milsom Place hasn’t had the best of luck this year, as several large restaurants have closed down. However, they have outdone themselves with their Christmas lights for 2018.
And the red bauble lookalike suspended under the lights in Milsom Street looks a lot better now it’s lit!
…or at least the Christmas lights are now (mostly) lit, apart from the rogue set of Christmas lights outside the “Min” which still seem to be in darkness.
And I know it isn’t a photo of Christmas lights, but this is one of my favourite views to photograph in Bath. The palm trees in a garden opposite Camden Crescent seem to lend themselves to atmospheric photos looking across Bath.
Love it or hate it, they’re setting up the Christmas Market ready for November 22nd. However, because the Abbey Footprint project means that Kingston Parade is closed, the Christmas Market will be spreading out to include part of Milsom Street as well.
It’s always enjoyable to walk along the London Road at this time of year – ok, there’s a lot of traffic, but the sunset tends to make it worthwhile.
Everyone was stopping to take a photo of the Abbey, as the moon lined up perfectly to look like part of the structure.
And just to prove it doesn’t need to be daylight to get a photo of Bath, this is overlooking the city centre from Camden.
The first thing that caught my eye was the red ball suspended under two of the lights in Milsom Street…. is it a basketball, or a flower, or maybe a bauble? Hopefully all will become clear(er) once the lights are switched on.
And who needs the glow of Christmas lights when you can look from Camden Crescent and see the glow over the city like this?
The second of November? Well, it works for Larkhall Athletic FC who had a spectacular fireworks display this evening.
