Aurora Borealis

I don’t live in the north, so I’ve never seen the Aurora Borealis other than in photos or on tv. Each time I’ve known the Northern Lights have been at a high level, it’s either been cloudy or I still haven’t seen them.

…until yesterday!

The Aurora Borealis was not visible by eye at the time I was taking these photos.

I finished taking photos before 11:30pm, but overnight the intensity of the Aurora increased, and it was visible by eye further south.

As I was taking the photos, an aeroplane flew across. Because I was using a longer exposure, the aeroplane’s left a light trail across the photos.
