  • Synchronised Sparrows

    These two House Sparrows look more like they’re in training for synchronised swimming than having a bath. Both decided to duck under the water at the same time, which lead to a lot of splashing. There wasn’t much water left in the bath after they’d finished! #30dayswild

  • Soggy Sparrows

    Not content with letting the Blackbird hog the bird bath, the House Sparrows insisted on having a turn. They rarely bathe solo, with up to seven birds sitting in the bath at the same time! #30dayswild

  • Blurry Blackbird

    I still can’t figure out the right settings on my camera to get a faster shutter speed – the water droplets are nice and clear, but the bathing blackbird is still a blur! #30dayswild

    You’d think the weather was a little cold for outdoor bathing, but the blackbird took advantage of the bird bath being full to the brim! #30dayswild

  • Cloudscapes yet again??

    It’s surprising how many photo-worthy clouds you can spot in just one walk – this one is from the same trip as yesterday’s photo, but taken a little later in the day. That’s the cropped version – when you see the cloud in the original photo, it looks totally different, with the blue sky and wispy clouds…

  • 2 photos, one cloudscape

    These two photos were part of one picture originally, but an annoying road sign was sitting right in the middle…. so I cropped it into two photos. The camera struggled with the brightness where the sun was peeking out from behind the clouds, but it does give the clouds a suitably dark appearance. #30dayswild

  • Fuzzy Clouds

    The weather was pretty grotty all morning, but by the afternoon not only had the rain passed over, there was a hint of blue sky as well! You can just see the darker stormy clouds to the bottom right of the photo, heading off towards the east / south.   #30dayswild

  • Another day, another Jay!

    Months can pass without seeing a Jay, then suddenly they seem to be spotted most days! Considering the RSPB classifies them as “shy”, the local Jays always seem to like shouting before they land on the ground, so once you know what to listen out for they become a lot easier to spot. This one was eagerly pecking…

  • Reflected Sunset

    I did wonder how intense the colour would look in this photo – looking NorthEast, the sunset glow was reflected in the clouds, giving a really vibrant look to the sky. Usually my camera struggles to replicate the deep red glow, but this time it seemed to come out quite accurately. #30dayswild

  • Pinky Peachy Sunset

    Most of my sunset photos are actually the sunset light reflected in clouds, but this one was taken looking directly towards the sunset. The sun had already disappeared behind the hill, but there was a fantastic glow to the sky. #30dayswild
