Promenading through the City

It’s that time of year again – when you walk through Bath and spot lots of Regency outfits! Yes, today was the Grand Promenade as part of the Jane Austen Festival.

This year’s route was different, starting in Sydney Gardens and heading along towards Pulteney Bridge, up Broad Street, down Milsom Street, past the Guildhall and into Parade Gardens. There seemed to be less pauses for everyone to catch up this year, as I wasn’t able to get ahead of the 33rd Regiment of Foot who were leading the Promenade!

More photos to come over the next few days – if you were participating in the Promenade, have you spotted yourself in any of these photos?

What a thunderstorm!

Wow, what a thunderstorm that was! It’s the first time I’ve been able to get some photos of lightning, including this shot which looks like the lightning struck Solsbury Hill!

Christmas Lights

For a ‘traditional shop’ photo, you can’t beat the sweet shop in Abbey Green, especially with their Christmas decorations and lights!

I can’t honestly say I’ve ever noticed the Chapel Arts Centre before, but their vivid lights caught my eye as we walked past.

On to another window display, and this was Mebyl in Cleveland Terrace.
