Ok, so the main fireworks display at the Rec was postponed due to the weather, but Larkhall Athletic FC had the best idea of scheduling their fireworks away from Bonfire Night itself!
And I particularly liked the way the final firework faded out

There’s something about the way the sunlight was catching St Stephen’s Church today, with the stormy clouds behind it, that was just yelling at me to take a photo or two.
Up at the top end of town, it’s looking pretty festive – especially with December 25th’s pop-up shop at the end of the road
…although down in Southgate, they’re all set up for the Day of the Dead
Looks like the council are getting a head start on the Christmas lights this year – they aren’t switched on yet, but most of them are up!
Just a quick photo today – the sky looked particularly good
I’m not 100% certain what they’re filming, but I got quite a good view of some of the cast (I’m assuming most of them are extras) while they waited for their part to come around.
Walking up Milsom Street today, they seem to be setting up some seating areas ready for the Car Free weekend. Not sure those seats look all that inviting though – they don’t seem overly comfy!
It wouldn’t be the Grand Regency Promenade without some photos of the canine participants – I love their outfits this year, even if the puppy wasn’t quite as willing to stay still enough for a clear photo!
Yesterday’s Grand Regency Promenade ended in Parade Gardens, where spectators and Promenade participants were encouraged to join in the dancing. First though, there were a few dances from the talented Steps In Time group.
On to the ‘come and join in’ dancing, where the moves were being called very enthusiastically to ensure nobody got lost!
And of course you can’t have a dance without musicians!
It’s that time of year again – when you walk through Bath and spot lots of Regency outfits! Yes, today was the Grand Promenade as part of the Jane Austen Festival.
This year’s route was different, starting in Sydney Gardens and heading along towards Pulteney Bridge, up Broad Street, down Milsom Street, past the Guildhall and into Parade Gardens. There seemed to be less pauses for everyone to catch up this year, as I wasn’t able to get ahead of the 33rd Regiment of Foot who were leading the Promenade!
More photos to come over the next few days – if you were participating in the Promenade, have you spotted yourself in any of these photos?
