Owls Hoot Farewell

The Owls Hoot Farewell event started today, and the weather was perfect for getting photos of every owl from the trail. There were also two new owls especially for the Hoot Farewell, plus a chance to get a much closer look at Ralph who previously was tucked away in a garden.

Paul Golledge’s Bird of Prey Discovery Talks were there on Saturday with three stunning owls – they even brought the Indian Eagle Owl out to meet the crowds!

Minerva’s Owls are set out with plenty of space between them, so you aren’t fighting the crowds to look at the detail on each one

And a bonus “Guess Whoo” – can you identify this owl?

The Hoot Farewell’s final day is tomorrow (Sunday 30th September) and is open 11:00 – 17:00, with last entries at 16:00.

More photos to come over the next few days!

Jane Austen Promenade

Still at the end of the Jane Austen Festival Regency Costumed Charity Promenade in Parade Gardens – I tried to get as many photos of the participants entering the gardens as I could.

There’s more photos to come over the next few days – I thought I’d spread them out so I didn’t overload my blog in one day!

Minerva’s Owls – The Wowlet

The Owls should all be back at base so they can be tidied up in time for the Owls Hoot Farewell weekend. I’ve still got several owl photos left to post, so these owls most likely won’t be visible today.

This particular owl didn’t feature on my Owl Trail Map – I only realised it existed when I was checking through the app with five days to go before the owls started flying back to roost!

We just managed to squeeze in a trip to Freshford, so we could spot The Wowlet – although the Village Hall was closed, The Wowlet was still outside, so we were able to get some good photos.

The Wowlet is creatively painted with handprints for his feathers.

Minerva’s Owls – Herbie

The Owls should all be back at base so they can be tidied up in time for the Owls Hoot Farewell weekend. I’ve still got several owl photos left to post, so these owls most likely won’t be visible today.

Post updated 29th September 2018

I didn’t get a photo of Herbie when he was perched at Clark’s Village, so I made sure to get a few photos of him at the Owls Hoot Farewell weekend!

Jane Austen Promenade

It wasn’t just the adults and children who were dressed up for the Jane Austen Festival Regency Costumed Charity Promenade – there were a couple of stylish canines as well!

Figgy Pudding seemed to be having a great time in the Promenade

Freddie looked particularly stylish, and seemed very happy to pose for photos while the Promenade waited for everyone to catch up

I did spot a fantastically dressed Labrador in Bath a few days ago as well, but I wasn’t able to get a photo. The outfit was brilliant though, including a little top hat!
