Bath Festival of Motoring 2015

Much like the previous year, we set out to walk up to the Festival of Motoring site as everyone was leaving on the second day.

I will admit I have made some assumptions on whether or not these cars were at the event, like the car below where I don’t think they would be driving on Lansdown Road if they hadn’t been at the event…

…but there were some which were pretty clear (like Herbie below) when the passenger waves out as I’m taking a photo!

The prize for most noticeable vehicle, has to go to this particular one though – the horn and flash of the massive light bar on the roof made me jump so much I’m amazed I have a clear photo!

These next two cars look fantastic for their age, and I love the informative signs in the window too!

I do have more photos from 2015 but you’ll have to head over to my next post for those, as I think this page would be getting a little too full otherwise!

Bath Festival of Motoring 2014

Back in 2014, we walked up to the Festival of Motoring site just as the event finished on the Sunday. As luck would have it, we were able to spot a lot of the exhibitors driving away from the site, which lead to some interesting photos.

Excuse the slightly blurry photo – I hadn’t anticipated spotting any of the cars, let alone this one quite so early in our walk, so I wasn’t quite ready for a photo!

I was a little more organised by the time we reached the top of Lansdown Road and spotted the Camel Trophy vehicles heading our way.

No Festival of Motoring 2020

As expected, the Bath Festival of Motoring was cancelled for 2020. However, I’m planning on posting some photos from previous years’ shows over the next couple of weeks, as a kind of virtual show instead.

Maybe you’ll spot your favourite car from previous years?

Supercars at the Festival of Motoring

It’s not just classic cars at the Bath Festival of Motoring – there were also supercar rides running on a regular basis. These supercars ranged from a 1971 Datsun 240z, to a 2007 Porsche Boxster, and from the sound of them pulling out onto the main road, it was a popular feature of the show!

Up go the Umbrellas

It wouldn’t be a Festival of Motoring that I’ve been to, if it didn’t rain at least once during the afternoon, and of course this year ran true to form!

Driving around the parade ring with an umbrella up doesn’t seem the easiest of tasks!

Once the sun came out again, the rain quickly evaporated off the tents, making it look like the food stalls were steaming.
