Festive Scenes

If only the ‘sound and shot’ setting on my phone would let me transfer the sound to the computer, you could hear the carol singers in fine voice outside the Abbey.

Moving up through Bath, the Corridor’s lights are really effective, illuminating the way towards Union Street.

The Return of the Merry Go Round

Now the sheds have all been disassembled after the Christmas Market, the Merry Go Round has returned to its usual spot outside Primark. You’d think this would be an easy thing to get a photograph of, but trying to get a shot with no people standing in front is surprisingly challenging!

Glowing Buildings

There’s something about Bath stone which makes for some great photographs when the sun hits the buildings.

London Road on a rainy afternoon
Believe it or not, this is the same afternoon as the previous photo!

Views of Bath

It’s always enjoyable to walk along the London Road at this time of year – ok, there’s a lot of traffic, but the sunset tends to make it worthwhile.

Everyone was stopping to take a photo of the Abbey, as the moon lined up perfectly to look like part of the structure.

And just to prove it doesn’t need to be daylight to get a photo of Bath, this is overlooking the city centre from Camden.

Day of the Dead

If you’ve been in SouthGate in the last year or two, you might have spotted the cycles suspended over the thoroughfare, followed by “Umbrella Street” and “Wisteria Walk”.

The current display is for the Day of the Dead, with skulls and skeletal birds dotted around on the buildings.

Skies over Bath

It’s not always the Bath Stone buildings which make for scenic photos, although if you time it right, you get a fantastic golden glow on the stone – sometimes the clouds can make or break a photo, whether they’re above the buildings, or reflected in the windows.
